Yeti Eats: Chew Xin Jai

Discovered on my first day in town, Chew Xin Jai became a staple of the Pai trip.  In fact, I’m not naming names, but up to 3 meals a day were eaten here sometimes.  In the morning and at lunch, there was a choice of delicious veggie soup (kind of like pho) or mixed rice, with up to 3 toppings for 40 baht /1.20 USD.

The dinner menu is huge!  And pretty much everything here is exceedingly delicious.  The owner is a very friendly fellow, and there is free drinking water.  While other cafes and restaurants in Pai had nicer courtyards or maybe even more exciting menus, the tasty-to-cheap factor here was too hard to beat.

This place is more popular with locals and Asian tourists than backpackers, and is about 5 minutes away from the “city center.”  Don’t let either of those stop you, as this place is one you’ll want to come back to.
